The Gatsby Benchmark
Here at Hillview, we use Unifrog
A system to track and support your progress from year 7 to the end of your time here at Hillview. It allows you to keep a record of the areas/sectors you are interested in, research training pathways as well, and have conversations with mentors and the Future Pathways Teams to enable a personalised approach to your career journey.
Ms M Lines
Originally, she aspired to be a physiotherapist for a Canadian football team but ultimately became a teacher in Canada before moving to the UK. After teaching for over 20 years in various subjects, before finally transiting into her current role as a Career Leader. She later earned a postgraduate award in Career Leadership from Warwick University.
Throughout her life, Ms. Lines has held diverse positions, including lifeguard, summer camp coordinator, ESL teacher, barista, and, interestingly (not!), worked in a box factory.
Miss J Birch
Growing up in North Wales, Miss Birch developed a love for the natural environment, particularly for rocks and fossils. From the age of thirteen, she aspired to become a geography teacher. However, it took seven years after graduating from Loughborough University for her to take the plunge into teaching. She has taught at Hillview for over twenty years and now holds the exciting role of Career Leader.
Throughout her career, Miss Birch has had a wide range of jobs, including conservation work (she can even build a drystone wall!), serving as an assistant ecologist rescuing dormice, and working in both the NHS and the fast-food industry.
