“Tell me and I forget – show me and I may remember – let me do it, and I learn.” Prue Leith

Students participate in a variety of cross-curricular activities aimed at developing their skills in planning, preparing, and serving food. For example, during the annual Year 13 Variety Show, participants not only display their talents but also collaborate on culinary creations that enhance the event's atmosphere. The Olympic Theme Day encourages students to explore the diverse cuisines of the nations participating in the event, promoting cultural awareness while inspiring them to create dishes that reflect each country's culinary heritage. Eco Week focuses on sustainability, prompting students to develop environmentally friendly recipes using locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, vibrant after-school clubs provide informal spaces for students to experiment with unique recipes and foster teamwork as they design and produce high-quality food items for various community events, such as the lively school Carnival. These hands-on experiences empower students to take pride in their culinary skills while preparing for real-world situations.
