Business Studies
“Find a job you like and you add five days to every week.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr
Everyone who enters the world of work will experience some aspects of the business world. Management techniques and financial disciplines apply in local government just as much as in a profit making business.
This course helps to prepare our students for the issues and challenges they will face at work. It also makes them consider what their choices are after education.
The Business Studies GCSE introduces students to the main principles of business that they can expect to experience in the workplace. Students learn how businesses recruit and manage their staff and how this will apply to their own lives. They gain an understanding of how businesses make profits and why profits matter, how businesses produce and manage their products and services and how they market these to customers. They also learn about what it means to businesses and employees when national economies go into recessions or inflation starts to rise.
