Regency Themed Tea Party

On March 18th, our school library became a lovely space for the Year 7 and 8 students to host a regency-themed tea party during lunchtime. This event, aptly named the "Lady Whistledown's Tea Party", offered a whimsical escape filled with charm and joy. The party was complete with cute tea sets, delicate cups, an array of delectable little cakes, and savoury sandwiches that catered to a variety of tastes.

The ambience was beautifully complemented by fancy music, which played in the background, enhancing the overall experience. Students and staff alike were drawn into the delightful atmosphere, where laughter and conversation filled the air. The event not only served as an opportunity for students to indulge in sweet treats but also fostered a sense of community among classmates and faculty.

Throughout the tea party, many attendees took to capturing the moment with high-brow photographs, which showcased the elegance of the event. From snapshots of exquisite treats to candid moments of students enjoying each other's company, these images will surely serve as cherished memories of the day. The success of the tea party was evident in the smiles and camaraderie that radiated throughout the room, marking it as a truly memorable occasion for all involved.

World Book Day Costume Competition

The following day, March 19th, the school kept the excitement going by celebrating World Book Day with Fancy Dress Day and a lively costume competition held in the hall during lunchtime. Both students and teachers embraced the chance to showcase their creativity and love for books by dressing up as characters from their favourite stories. The effort everyone put into their costumes was impressive, featuring a wide range of outfits that highlighted the different worlds of literature.

Among the judges were Mrs. Burkett, our headteacher, and Mrs. Capon, our friendly receptionist. They were eager to see the creativity on display and played an important role in picking the winners for three categories: Single Costumes, Duos, and Group Costumes.

The creativity on display was truly amazing, with costumes representing characters from both classic and modern works. In the Single Costumes category, the winner wowed the crowd with a fantastic portrayal of a character from The Great Gatsby, showing not just creativity but also a deep understanding of the character. For the Duos category, the winning pair paid tribute to Red Dead Redemption, demonstrating great teamwork and attention to detail. Meanwhile, the Group Costumes category featured a heartwarming display of characters from Little Women, highlighting the fun and coordination among friends.

Overall, the event was a huge success, reflecting the enthusiasm and imagination of both students and teachers. A big shout-out goes to not only the winners but also to everyone who participated. Their hard work in creating costumes showed a real love for literature and a commitment to making the day fun for everyone.

The tea party and the Costume Competition were more than just activities; they were celebrations of community, creativity, and the joy of literature and friendship. These events brought the school together, fostering connections and shared experiences that will be remembered long after they’ve ended. As we look back on these two fantastic days, it’s clear that such activities not only enrich our school community but also leave a lasting impact on all who took part. We can’t wait for more opportunities to connect and be creative in the future!
