Parent Information
Future Pathway is the name given to the Careers Education Programme here at Hillview School for Girls. It is important that parents and carers understand that we support your child’s journey towards their final destination right from the start in year 7, giving them ample opportunities in both subjects and mentor sessions to explore a range of careers and the various training routes or ‘pathways’ to these careers.
The world, education, and the jobs market are ever-changing, and it is critical that we empower our students to be resilient and reactive.
You can subscribe to Careermag for Parents. This is a termly magazine aimed at parents/carers to help them keep up to date with educational and industry/job market developments, which guides parents/carers and their children through the career journey. See the link below:

Here at Hillview, we use Unifrog.
To monitor and support future choices for our learners as they each have their own personalised account to access in their own time, particularly for mentor time and PDL activities. There is a free/open-access side to the site, or speak to your child about what they have been exploring in their account.
In addition, our team will be posting about the careers programme more regularly in the school newsletters. An overall view of the careers programme and each year groups unique journey can be found on the academic year strategic plan as well as on the Careers programme for the academic year. The latter being a working document that we will be added to and adjusted as the plan adapts and evolves to the needs of our learners.

Offering to talk about your Career and the route you took to get there at one of our Future Friday sessions or at an assembly.
-
I'm volunteering to host a stall at our Careers Fair in the Spring/Summer. We also offer workshops on the day. Would you be able to host a talk?
